Marble Rust Stains Removed
This residential marble countertop in Houston, TX had rust stains caused by an improperly installed faucet. To make matters worse, the homeowners used inappropriate cleaning solutions in an attempt to remove the rust stains, causing etch damage. The poor condition of the marble is obvious in the BEFORE image.
We ground the entire countertop with 50 grit resin diamond pads to remove the rust deposits and heavy damage on the surface layer. Then we used a series of progressively finer grits to hone and polish the marble. Our final step was to use 3000 grit pads and MB22 polishing compound to give the countertop the glossy shine you see in the AFTER image.
